About Us
Our Story
Addressing a Community Need
The Braunstone Islamic Community Centre was established to serve the growing needs of the Muslim community in Braunstone, Leicester. For years, families in the area faced challenges accessing a local masjid, making it difficult to attend congregational prayers and access Islamic education. Our centre provides a welcoming and inclusive space for worship, learning, and community support, ensuring everyone from children to the elderly can benefit.
Our mission is rooted in the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), calling to the oneness of Allah and promoting the authentic Sunnah. We aim to strengthen our community through prayer, education, and outreach, while fostering unity and understanding.
The centre is committed to offering regular prayers, youth programs, and family focused events. We also provide guidance on Islamic practices, and support for those new to Islam.
At the heart of everything we do is the goal of building a cohesive and vibrant community, grounded in faith, knowledge, and noble character.

Our Mission
Our Vision
We aim to create a masjid that functions as a hub for spiritual growth, education, and social connection. Currently, we hold Friday Juma prayers at the “BRITE” Centre, but our vision is to build a permanent mosque.
This masjid will not only accommodate daily prayers and Juma services but also become a center for learning, community engagement, and support.
A Noble Cause
Our initiative is inspired by the profound teaching of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him):
“Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, like a sparrow’s nest or even smaller, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.”

- Islamic Education:
Providing Quran lessons for children, lectures, and Islamic studies to deepen understanding and faith. - Youth Development:
Offering language classes and programs to empower young people with essential skills and Islamic values. - Community Services:
Supporting the community through counselling, weddings, funerals, and charitable initiatives for those in need. - Special Events:
Hosting Eid prayers, Ramadan programs, and community iftars to bring people together and strengthen unity.
